To You Who Bring Small Children to Church

There you are sitting in worship or Bible study. Your child, or toddler, is restless. Perhaps they’re even a little boisterous. You try to silence them, and nothing. You try to pacify them with food or toys, and nothing. Eventually, you resort to the last thing you wanted to do: you pick them up, and before a watching audience, you make the march out of the auditorium. All the while, you’re a little embarrassed. Maybe you’re a little frustrated too. You might even think to yourself, “There’s no point in coming to church. I get nothing out of it because I have to constantly care for my kid.”………

7 STEPS TO REBOOT CHRISTIAN TELEVISION

Lee Grady believes the time for preaching styles like TBN’s Paul Crouch (center) has passed. (TBN/Facebook)
1. Support it with advertising, not donations. Who said Christian programming has to be donor-funded? I’d rather watch ads for steak knives or dietary supplements than endure two hours of begging—especially when the slick-haired evangelist running the telethon reminds you of a used-car salesman.
2. Prosperity preaching shouldn’t be allowed. Networks need to declare a moratorium on sermons that promise magical monetary benefits to people who “call now” to give a credit card donation. This type of merchandising of the anointing of the Holy Spirit grieves God and drags Christian TV down to the level of scam artists.
3. Preachers—and their doctrines—should be more carefully screened. Christian networks should not air programs by ministers who have questionable morals. If we wouldn’t allow that person in our church’s pulpit, why would we let them preach in front of millions on the air?
4. Donors should never be manipulated. If there is an appeal for donations, there should be no hanky-panky allowed. Don’t tell people that if they give tonight, God will give them a house. Don’t promise that God will heal their bodies if they sow a “$1,000 seed.” And don’t tell viewers that if they give in this special “Day of Atonement offering,” God will forgive their sins. This is witchcraft! Shame on any broadcaster who has allowed this garbage to deceive audiences.
5. Money should never be misused. TBN makes millions in donations every year—and the network has donated some of the funds to charitable causes. But why is it that broadcasters like Paul and Jan Crouch had to purchase lavish homes, a private jet and an enormous trailer for their dogs? Donors should demand more accountability for financial contributions.
6. It should be relevant to today’s culture. Young Christians today care about justice, world poverty and community transformation. They also want teaching on relationships, sexuality and practical discipleship. Christian TV must move beyond the talking-head style of the 1980s. If we want to appeal to young viewers, the false eyelashes, pink fright wigs and “Granny hootenanny” music will have to go.
7. Network owners should not set up broadcasting kingdoms. Some leaders in the past generation believed that ministries are like dynasties—that God expects the founder’s son to run it when he dies. But there is nothing in Scripture that even hints at ministries being passed down through family lines. God entrusts His work to faithful people—and He expects us to manage ministries with integrity, humility and accountability. Many of the disasters we have seen in American televangelism occurred because men thought they could take ownership of the work of God.

Christianity is ‘most persecuted religion’…..
“…one Christian is killed every 11 minutes!”

Photo: David Degner, Getty Images
The plight of Christians around the world was discussed in a three-hour debate at the Houses of Parliament in London yesterday.
Members of the House of Commons were told that the persecution of Christians is increasing, that one Christian is killed around every 11 minutes around the world, and that Christianity is the “most persecuted religion globally”.
A long list of countries in which life as a Christian is most difficult was discussed, including Syria, North Korea, Eritrea, Nigeria, Iraq and Egypt.
MP Jim Shannon said the persecution of Christians is “the biggest story in the world that has never been told”.
He said that although the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion is enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, there are many countries in which these rights are not given.
Shannon alleged that 200 million Christians will be persecuted for their faith this year, while he said that 500 million live in “dangerous neighbourhoods”.

Pastor Commits Suicide While Congregation Waits for Him to Preach

Rev. Teddy Parker, 42, of Macon, Ga., died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the driveway of his home while his 800-member church and his family waited for him to show up to preach on Sunday morning. Parker was pastor at Bibb Mount Zion Baptist Church in Macon and a father of two.
“It’s hard to be honest. It’s difficult for some preachers to be honest. Every pastor needs a pastor to kind of lead and guide them. But it’s hard for us to really find that relationship because often pastors are trying to compete with or cremate you. And so it’s difficult to find camaraderie.”

Pentru că parcarea nu-i costă nimic.

GREAT EXPECTATIONS…….
Each of us has etched in our minds a very personal picture of where we want to be at age 30, 40, 50, 60. Our images are drawn with the greatest of expectations. However, sometimes our plans and expectations fall short of picture perfect. How do we construct and adopt realistic, yet GREAT, expectations?
In this series, we’ll take an in-depth look at expectations in marriage, friendships, the marketplace, and our communities.

HOW THE BIBLE IS MISINTERPRETED…..
“When I walked away from the church into the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) community, it was because I felt like they offered a more appealing, better-tasting, longer-lasting love. At church, I couldn’t wrestle with my sexual identity because of the shame and fear of rejection.
But the LGBT community offered something different.” (????????….)

3 SIMPLE STEPS TO HEARING THE VOICE OF GOD…

One word from God will change your life forever! God desires to speak to us. The real issue is whether or not we have learned to hear Him when He speaks.
The Bible is filled with stories of people just like you and me who heard God speak to them, and their lives were changed. Remember how God spoke to Joseph through a dream, to Moses as a friend, to Balaam through a donkey, to Esther through her cousin, and to Paul through a vision?…….
These three focuses also apply to hearing the voice of God.
1 – The Foundation
The foundation of listening to God is obeying the Scriptures. …..
2 – Inside
God also speaks to us on the inside…….
3 – Outside
God also speaks to us from outside of ourselves…..
When God spoke to me yesterday through the prophet, I immediately made sure it aligned with the three lighthouses: the Scriptures, God speaking inside, and God speaking outside. I had peace inside and the prophecy lined up with the scriptures so I can “take it to the bank!” And so can you as you follow these three simple steps to hearing His voice!

THE TOMORROW PROJECT…
“And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” Revelation 13

“Right now, everywhere you look the RFID microchip is calling the shots. Obviously, your car is filled with them, but did you also know that washers and dryers, coffee makers, lamps, doorknobs and nearly everything run on electricity are now RFID enabled? This is being done to create a system that can include you, or lock you out. Participation in this exclusive club will require you willingly recieve the Mark of the Beast. Neutrality will not be allowed….”

Distinguish between the sweat of the flesh and the dew of heaven…

Do you trust the Holy Spirit to work in you, or do you lean on the flesh? Do you have the precious dew of His miraculous anointing on your life, or have you manufactured a cheap form of human moisture to do the job?
As I have prayed for more anointing in my life, I’ve realized that we often mistake fake anointing for the real thing. Here’s what I’ve learned so far:
The anointing isn’t in numbers….
The anointing isn’t in eloquence….
The anointing isn’t in looks….
The anointing isn’t in technology….
The anointing isn’t in emotionalism.…
The anointing isn’t in contrived manifestations….

Children: Between Life and Death

As a father of three young children I shutter when I read things like this in the Bible.
“They have built the high places of Topheth in the Valley of Ben Hinnom to burn their sons and daughters in the fire—something I did not command, nor did it enter my mind.” Jer 7:31
“And you took your sons and your daughters, whom you had borne to me, and these you sacrificed to them to be devoured. Were your whorings so small a matter that you slaughtered my children and delivered them up as an offering by fire to them?” Ez 16:20-21
“And they burned their sons and their daughters as offerings and used divination and omens and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the Lord, provoking him to anger.” 2 Kings 17:17
So great was the idolatry of Israel that they have resorted to child sacrifices to appease Molek and other gods…

Save the Princess
Fighting for our loved one will save the kingdom!!!
I love movies.
I especially love classic, Disney cartoons. I love sharing those films with younger generations. I introduced my 2 year old nephew to “Dumbo” and now he’s hooked. Despite the lack of computer animation, the stories touch the heart and give the viewer a strong dose of faith and hope.
My absolute favorite Disney movie of all time is Sleeping Beauty. I love the story, the artwork, the music, and the adventure.
I’ve come to appreciate it even more as I’ve grown older.
I will never face a dragon. I will most likely never chop my way through a thorny forest to save a princess. I will never wear a princely cape.
But I will face insurmountable odds. I will have to rescue and protect the people I love.
Sometimes, we forget that the battle is real because its disguised as ordinary, every day life.
The dragon may…
