Sunt asteptati sa participe la aceasta intalnire tineri din bisericile penticostale din Comunitatea de Suceava. Conferinta se va desfasura in intervalul 10:00 – 16:00. ““Duhul Sfânt” nu a reprezentat pentru Pavel atât de mult o doctrină sănătoasă cât o dinamică spirituală. El era interesat ca cei care se converteau, “primind” întâi Duhul (Gal. 3:2 – timpul aorist, “o singură dată”), să “continue” să fie “alimentați” cu Duhul (Gal. 3:5 – timpul prezent “continuu”). Mântuirea deplină va fi experimentată numai de cei care “încă mai au” Duhul; nu este suficient să-L fi “avut odată”.
Probabil că de motivația pe care o produce această distincție ducem lipsă în zilele noastre, mai mult ca niciodată. Botezul în Duhul Sfânt este doar un început. “Cea mai consecventă poziție “pedobaptistă” este cea care se bazează pe noțiunea legământului. Întemeindu-se de obicei pe premisa că există doar un singur “legământ al haruui” în întreaga Biblie și că acela este revelat în diverse etape și moduri, aceasta susține că relațiile lui Dumnezeu cu oamenii sunt mai degrabă colective decât individuale și că harul Său este moștenit fiziv, dar poate fi transmis și spiritual. Dumnezeu face legământ cu un “popor”, maid egrabă decât cu niște oameni. Familia este unitatea mântuirii, omul născându-se cu “statutul” spiritual al părinților. Ca atare, botezurile “caselor” se află în armonie perfectă cu metodele lui Dumnezeu, dacă sunt înțelese ca botezuri ale “familiei”.
Ipoteza de bază din spatele acestui mod de gândire, și anume că există un singur tip de “legământ al harului” care se desfășoară în Biblie…

“Nu există niciun temei în Noul Testament pe baza căruia Cincizecimea să poată fi văzută ca un eveniment colectiv, unic, irepetabil și care să cuprindă împlinirea deplină a profeției lui Ioan despre botezul viitor al Duhului. Întreg limbajul folosit cu privire la experiența “subiectivă” a ucenicilor în ziua respectivă este utilizat în mod liber și cu privire la credincioșii ulteriori, care nu erau prezenți în acel moment. Se poate să fi existat anumite fenomene “obiective”, care au însemnat acea primă ocazie, dar, în esență, aceasta a fost prima dintre multele astfel de “revărsări” ale Duhului.

Nigeria Car Bomb: Kaduna Blast Near Churches Kills 38

LAGOS, Nigeria — A suicide car bomber detonated his explosives Sunday morning on a busy road after apparently turning away from attacking Nigerian churches holding Easter services, killing at least 38 people in a massive blast that rattled a city long at the center of religious, ethnic and political violence in the nation.
The blast struck Kaduna, the capital of Kaduna state, leaving charred motorcycles and debris strewn across a major road in the city where many gather to eat at informal restaurants and buy black market gasoline. Nearby hotels and homes had their windows blown out and roofs torn away by the force of the powerful explosion, which engulfed a group of motorcycle taximen.
The explosion damaged the nearby All Nations Christian Assembly Church and the ECWA Good News Church as churchgoers worshipped at an Easter service, the possible target of the bomber. Witnesses said it appeared the explosive-laden car attempted to go into the compound of the churches before it detonated, but was blocked by barriers in the street and was turned away by a security guard as police approached.
“We were in the holy communion service and I was exhorting my people and all of a sudden, we heard a loud noise that shattered all our windows and doors, destroyed our fans and some of our equipment in the church,” Pastor Joshua Raji said.
While no one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, suspicion immediately fell on a radical Islamist sect blamed for hundreds of killings in the oil-rich nation this year alone. And some fear the attack could further inflame tensions around Kaduna, a region on the dividing line between Nigeria’s largely Christian south and Muslim north.
At least 38 people were killed in the blast, said Abubakar Zakari Adamu, a spokesman for the Kaduna state Emergency Management Agency. Others suffered serious injuries and were receiving treatment at local hospitals, Adamu said.
A witness, Augustine Vincent, said he was riding a motorcycle just behind the car when it exploded.
“God saw our heart and saved us,” he said.
Churches have been increasingly targeted by violence on holy days in Nigeria, a nation of more than 160 million people of Christians and Muslims. A Christmas Day suicide bombing of a Catholic church in Madalla near Nigeria’s capital killed at least 44 people.
Police and soldiers quickly cordoned off the blast site, though citizens looked on at the flames and damage. Authorities said they had no immediately suspects in the attack, though a radical Islamist sect known as Boko Haram has claimed similar attacks in the past.
Boko Haram, whose name means “Western education is sacrilege” in the Hausa language of Nigeria’s north, is waging an increasingly bloody fight with security agencies and the public. More than 380 people have been killed in violence blamed on the sect this year alone, according to an Associated Press count.
The sect, employing suicide bombers and assault-rifle shootouts, has attacked both Christians and Muslims, as well as the United Nations’ headquarters in Nigeria.
The sect has rejected efforts to begin indirect peace talks with Nigeria’s government. Its demands include the introduction of strict Shariah law across the country, even in Christian areas, and the release of all imprisoned followers.
The near-daily attacks by the sect – and Nigeria’s weak central government’s inability to thwart them despite public promises – has sparked anger and fear about the group’s reach. The United Kingdom and the United States had warned its citizens living in the country that violence was likely over the Easter holiday. Nigeria’s government dismissed the warning, with local newspapers quoting presidential spokesman Reuben Abati saying: “Easter will be peaceful for all.”
Abati did not immediately respond to a request for comment Sunday. In his Easter speech at the Vatican, Pope Benedict XVI mentioned the ongoing violence in Nigeria. Catholic churches have been targeted in previous attacks.
“To Nigeria, which in recent times has experienced savage terrorist attacks, may the joy of Easter grant the strength needed to take up anew the building of a society which is peaceful and respectful of the religious freedom of its citizens,” he said.
Britain’s Africa Minister Henry Bellingham condemned the attack, calling it a “horrific act.”
Meanwhile, authorities said an explosion struck the city of Jos in neighboring Plateau state on Sunday night, another city where religious and ethnic violence has killed hundreds in past years. Yushau Shuaib, a spokesman for the National Emergency Management Agency, said there were some injuries in the blast, but had no other details. State police commissioner Emmanuel Dipo Ayeni said the cause of blast was still being investigated.
Kaduna, on Nigeria’s dividing line between its largely Christian south and Muslim north, was at the heart of postelection violence in April 2011. Mobs armed with machetes and poison-tipped arrows took over streets of Kaduna and the state’s rural countryside after election officials declared President Goodluck Jonathan the winner. Followers of his main opponent, former military ruler Muhammadu Buhari, a Muslim, quickly alleged the vote had been rigged, though observers largely declared the vote fair.
Across the nation, at least 800 people died in that rioting, Human Rights Watch said. In the time since, heavily armed soldiers remain on guard on roadways throughout Kaduna. In December, an explosion at an auto parts market in Kaduna killed at least seven people. Though authorities said it came from a leaking gas cylinder, the Nigerian Red Cross later said in an internal report the blast came from a bomb.
In February, bombs exploded at two major military bases near the city, injuring an unknown number of people.

Jesus is Alive! Happy Easter!
1 Corinthians 15:14-17 : “And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.”
Easter Sunday is the most triumphant day in the calendar of the Christian Church.
The resurrection quickly became the central theme of the apostles preaching. Within 50 days of the death of Christ and of the apparent collapse of His cause, the city of Jerusalem rang with the cries of those who with all boldness declared that God had raised Jesus from the dead and that they were His witnesses. Hundreds had seen Him after His resurrection! On the day of Pentecost cowering cowards were changed into courageous confessors. Fishermen from Galilee became heralds of the King. All who saw and heard them were compelled to acknowledge that something had happened which had utterly transformed their lives. When questioned by their critics, the apostles had no hesitancy in making reply. They accounted for their own boldness by attributing everything to the risen Christ.
On the day of Pentecost the resurrection was the keynote of Peter’s sermon, (See Acts 2:14-40) which inspired 3,000 people to confess Christ as Lord.
Acts 2:41: “Those who accepted His message were baptised, and about three thousand were added to their number that day”.
The resurrection was the dominant theme in all of Paul’s preaching. Everywhere he declared: “By His power God raised the Lord from the dead, and He will raise us also.” 1 Corinthians 6:14
Thousands of people will go to church on Easter Sunday to hear sermons about the resurrection. But how many actually believe that Christ is alive?
What a difference it would make if they did!
What a difference it would make in domestic and international affairs if people understood that Christ is risen!
What a transformation would take place in our families!
On the day of the resurrection the angel at the tomb delivered the most important message that has ever fallen on the ears of mankind: “He is not here; He has risen, just as He said. Come and see the place where He lay.” Matthew 28:6 ( Mark 16:6, Luke 24:6)
The power of those words changed the course of history, brought hope to a hopeless world and gave men and women a purpose and a power which they had never before known.
We live in a day when science has harnessed the power of the universe. But such power has not made the world better. It has not solved the riddle of human evil; it has not helped us to cope with the problems that threaten the world’s peoples.
What relevance has the resurrection of Christ to our human dilemma?
Christ’s resurrection can have everything to do with answering our problems. Alive forevermore, the risen Christ can do today what He did for those who received and believed Him in days gone by.
1). THE POWER OF THE RESURRECTION SAVES AND REDEEMS INDIVIDUALS
Jesus said: “I tell you the truth, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live.” (John 5:25)
I have seen hundreds, thousands of men and women who are among the living dead. Life to them has become a hollow mockery and a sham; life has lost its purpose and meaning. These people are bored and fed up; they have no zest for living.
I have seen them come in simply, trusting faith to the living Christ. They have put their trembling hands into the strong hands of the crucified and risen Christ.
I have seen them in the glow of the living Christ step out of a casket of broken hopes and dreams to become happy, useful, integrated people, filled with purpose and power.
Jesus words have not changed. Time has not robbed them of their power.
When “the dead … hear the voice of the Son of God … they will live.” (John 5:25)
The Christ who lived on this planet still lives today, raising from their lifelessness all those who believe in Him, raising them from a wretched existence that is worse than death.
We read in the Bible:
a). “and His incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of His mighty strength, which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms.”(Ephesians 1:19-20)
b). “As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins”. Ephesians 2:1. “made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions – it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.” (Ephesians 2:5-6)
Have you been raised to a new life in Christ – you who are discouraged and despondent? You who are bored with living? You who cope with psychological and mental problems? You who experience gnawing fear and insecurity? You who are dead in trespasses and in sins? I tell you on the authority of the Bible that the risen Christ can raise you out of your spiritual lifelessness and can transform you.
2). THE RESURRECTION EMPOWERS US TO LIVE VICTORIOUSLY IN THIS LIFE
The living Christ is able to bring all of our energies and powers into focus and to help us to be conquerors over the world, the flesh and the devil.
The Bible says: “Therefore He is able to save completely those who come to God through Him, because He always lives to intercede for them.” (Hebrews 7:25)
With the risen Christ as our Commander in Chief we can say with Paul: “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” (Romans 8:37)
I have exciting news for all that are staggering under the burden of life’s load. After the resurrection Jesus promised: ” … and surely I will be with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20)
God wants you to have His power today. He longs to give it to you, but you must be faith open your heart to Him. When you come to the cross of Christ for forgiveness of sin, the Holy Spirit will raise you from the mundane, the monotonous, the hopeless, to a new, thrilling, adventuresome life filled with dynamic power.
3). THE POWER OF THE RESURRECTION GIVES HOPE
“Is there hope?” That is the constant question of humanity, and Easter is the answer to that question. The New Testament is the textbook of hope. The word hope occurs over and over in the New Testament after Christ’s resurrection. It was the resurrection of Jesus Christ that sets off a chain reaction of hope in the world.
Thomas Carlyle wrote: “Man is … based upon Hope; he has no other possession but Hope.”
On the purely human level there is little hope in the world. Immorality and lawlessness seem to be increasing. Wrong seems to be winning and right seems to be losing the battle for the minds and hearts of people. But the living Christ can bring glorious hope to individuals and to the world.
Scripture says: “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” (1 Peter 1:3)
Many of us have put our faith in stocks, bonds, gadgets, pleasures and thrills.
Many of us have tried to bypass God. We are in trouble because we have left out God; we have left out the Ten Commandments; we have left out the Sermon on the Mount.
Now we are reaping the tragic results. But there is hope in the Easter message: in Christ there is hope for all.
All of us are facing death, and we can know that with Christ there is hope beyond the grave, because the same power that raised Christ from the dead will also raise those who confess Him. Death becomes only a veil, only a river to cross; on the other side is heaven, home and Christ.
One moment we say “Good night” here, and the next moment we say “Good morning” there.
I do not know how people outside Christ cope with the thought of death. They must experience utter hopelessness, for there is no hope outside Christ.
Easter, with its message of resurrection power, brings us face-to-face with the living Christ.
Will you reject Him and be eternally lost? Or will you receive Christ and the eternal life that He alone can give?

Se întâmplă să trecem prin Paștele anonim și anesteziat cu pași repeziți și buimaci, fără să realizăm că astfel ratăm întâlnirea cu Cel pe care Îl acuzăm că ne-a părăsit. Oare cum ar arăta lumea fără Paște?
Fără Paște am fi rămas
- în ipocrizie față de noi înșine, față de alții și față de Dumnezeu:

Despre Pascalia ortodoxă sau “De ce sărbătoresc neoprotestanţii români Paştele odată cu Răsăritenii?”
Foarte interesante, deşi poate prea condensate, cele două materiale propuse de Emanuel Conţac cu privire la diferenţele de datare a Sărbătorii Paştelor între Vestici şi Răsăriteni. Recunosc, sunt şi eu unul dintre aceia “nederanjaţi” de această disensiune calendaristică; totuşi, am hotărât ca astăzi să folosesc acest prilej pentru a învăţa ceva nou şi interesant, pe un subiect arzător în unele contexte, atât în Răsărit, cât şi între creştinii Apuseni.
Surprinzător, neoprotestanţii români au ales să fie în ton cu ortodocşii, probabil pentru a nu adăuga prigonirilor de care au avut parte şi eticheta de unelte subversive ale papistaşilor ( e interesant să auzi mărturii ale celor care au făcut seminarul teologic baptist pe la noi în vremurile comuniste cum povestesc că au fost învăţăţi despre identitatea baptistă ca fiind într-o opoziţie directă cu papalitatea … poate altă dată voi dezvolta subiectul).

Este atât de uşor să răneşti. Să înfingi un pumnal în inima cuiva. Să înjunghii pe la spate. Să dezvălui pe faţă secretele ce ţi s-au încredinţat. Tot mai mulţi oameni fac asta în zilele noastre moderne. Înjunghiem, iar apoi plecăm cu mâinile mânjite de sânge. Împungem până în străfundul inimii cuiva cu vorbele noastre, iar apoi ne luăm la revedere nepăsători şi ne vedem de treburile noastre. Nimeni nu mai pare că vrea să înveţe să lege o rană. Ba chiar aş putea zice că fugim cu toţii de asta.Pentru că a încerca să fii mai bun îţi va aduce ruşine. Şi a încerca să-L imiţi pe Isus înseamnă că te crezi mai bun decât alţii.Oamenii s-ar putea să ne acuze de intenţii ascunse.Poate vom ajunge să fim consideraţi idioţi sau nebuni.Să ne binecuvântăm duşmanii?Să întoarcem şi obrazul celălalt?Aşa făceau martirii cu călăii lor.În timp ce aşteptau să fie împuşcati,spânzuraţi sau să le fie tăiate capetele,se rugau pentru cel ce urma să facă asta.
Nu ştiu ce ai tu de zis despre asta,dar eu numesc asta Legea Iubirii adusă la împlinire.Mă doare să văd cum unii oameni cred că dragostea înseamnă doar a avea pe cineva special.
E şi mai dureros faptul că ne este ruşine să legăm o rană.Ne vine greu să ne pese de alţii.Dar cea mai mare parte a timpului nostru liber ni-l cam petrecem învăţând cum să ne îngrijim,cum să ne iubim şi cum să ne cunoaştem pe noi înşine tot mai mult.Iar un om trist aşteaptă ca cineva să-l întrebe cum se simte.Te aşteaptă pe tine s-o faci.O bătrânică de pe stradă cu mâinile muncite aşteaptă cei 5 lei ai tăi.Dar sunt prea mult,aşa-i?
Trebuie să învăţăm să împlinim Legea Iubirii.Iar ea nu poate fi împlintă decât murind faţă de nevoile noastre egoiste şi înviind faţă de nevoile celorlalţi.Doar astfel vom putea lega rănile celorlalţi.Şi doar aşa ne vom vindeca şi nouă rănile noastre sufleteşti.Tânjeşte să iubeşti!
